agar ḳhud rā numāyam āshkārā
yaqīñ biinī jamāl-e-kibriyā rā
If I manifest myself,
You will surely witness the beauty of God.
shajar dar nutq aamad az zabānam
ba-guft innī-nallāh-āshkārā
The trees received a voice from my tongue,
And openly proclaimed, I am Allah (God).
nazar kun bar ruḳh-e-ḳhūbāñ sarāsar
ki tā dar-yābī asrār-e-ḳhudā rā
Gaze attentively upon the face of the beloved,
So that you may attain knowledge of the secrets of God.
na-dariyā.em mā dariyāst az mā
ma-shau ġhāfil dame daryāb maarā
We may not be the ocean ourselves, but the ocean is certainly within us.
Do not forget us even for a moment, strive to find us.
bahar zarra numūdār-e-ḳhudā.īt
ayaañ ba-nigar jamāle-ḳhud-numā rā
Your divine essence is evident in every particle,
Just take a glimpse of your self-reflecting beauty.
nigar 'ahmad' ba-lauh-e-āriz-e-dost
ba-chashm-e-haq ba-bīñ sirr-e-ḳhudā rā
Oh Ahmad, if you gaze upon the countenance of your friend,
You will truly behold the secrets of God with your righteous eyes.
agar KHud ra numayam aashkara
