Born as Syed Shah Noor-ur-Rahman, alias Shah Lal, his pen-name was Noor. He is the youngest son of Shah Tabarak Hussain Kakvi. He was born in 1286 AH in Mauza Dianwa'n and grew up there. He had a great taste for poetry and painting. In the beginning he got corrections from Waheed Allahabadi. He lived in Kothi, Patna. He had a special affection for his native Kako district of Jehanabad. However, he had a deep devotion to the Sufis. His nature was always inclined towards asceticism. He also accepted the post of honorary Magistrate and continued to perform this service in the Panch Adalat of Sadiqpur. He wrote good poetry, but did not write regularly. Shah Noor-ur-Rahman alias Shah Lal was one of the famous elites of Azimabad. Along with wealth, he was also generous and was well-read, too. He went to Medina and learned the art of recitation. He was a shining beacon of the beautiful and noble family. Apart from poetry, he was fond of pictures. Correspondence with Hazrat Shah Akbar Danapuri continued and a series of advice from Hazrat Akbar continued. In Hazrat Akbar's Diwan II Jazbat-e-Akbar, there is also a chronogram of Shah Noor-ur-Rahman alias Shah Lal. Shah Noor-ur-Rahman alias Shah Lal died in Kashmiri Kothi on April 14, 1917, 1335 AH, and was buried in the precincts of Hazrat Shahabuddin Pir Jag-jot's shrine.
