His place of birth was Chidhaura (Mathura), and his pet name was Sasinath, Homeshwar. He wrote in between Vikram Samvat 1756-1817. His patrons were Pratap Singh and Shah Azam, the rulers of Vair. He was among the finest teachers, poets, and astrologers of his time. His major compositions are (1) Rasapiyushnidhi, (2) Shringar Vilas, (3) Madhav Vinod, (4) Dhruvvinod, (5) Sujan Vilas, (6) Prem Pachisi, (7) Raas Panchadhyayi, (8) Ratnakar and (9) Ramkala Ghar.
