baaz talbīdan-e-nakHchīrāñ az ḳhargosh sirr-e-andesha-e-ū rā
How the beasts requested the hare to tell the secret of his thought.
baa'd az aañ guftand ki-ai ḳhargosh-e-chust
darmiyān aar aañ che dar idrāk-e-tust
Afterwards they said, O nimble hare,
communicate what is in thy apprehension.
ai ki bā-shere tū dar pechīda-i
baaz go raa.e ki andeshīda-i
O thou who hast grappled with a lion,
declare the plan which thou hast thought of.
mashvarat idrāk-o-hushyārī dehad
'aql-hā mar 'aql rā yaarī dehad
Counsel gives perception and understanding:
the mind is helped by (other) minds.
guft paiġhambar ba-kun ai rā.e-zan
mashvarat kal-mustashāru motaman
The Prophet said, ‘O adviser, take counsel (with the trustworthy),
for he whose counsel is sought is trusted.’
