az gareban chand tare manda ast
az garebāñ chand taare māñda ast
ai junūñ daste ki kaare māñda ast
O love, the hands of restlessness and turbulent longing are in such a state that only a few threads remain in the collar. O madness and restlessness, help me, for the task is still unfinished (meaning the work of providing comfort to this beloved is still pending, so O madness, increase your turbulent longing so that the task can be accomplished).
tund ma-guzar ai sabā dar kū-e-ū
burd az mā ġhubāre māñda ast
O breeze, do not blow swiftly towards the beloved's street and door, for the dust of our existence has settled upon it. Let it fly and separate from here (This expresses loyalty and attachment to the beloved, indicating that even after becoming dust at the doorstep of the beloved, the lover does not prefer to be separated).
bar dar-o-dīvār-e-ū az ḳhūn-e-man
sāl-hā naqsh-o-nigāre māñda ast
The engravings and designs made from my blood are still present on the doors and walls of the beloved and desired one (The general meaning of this verse is that the effects of our sacrifices and offerings in love have not yet faded).
rañg-o-būe kard paidā 'āshnā'
muddatae bā-gul-e-'izāre māñda asat
The acquaintance has generated color and fragrance within itself, because it has embraced the company of someone with a face like a flower (Meaning that the beauty and pleasantness of the beloved with a face like a flower has infused color and fragrance into the acquaintance, and the coexistence with this rose-like-faced beloved has made the acquaintance fragrant like a rose).
