ai māh-e-ḳhūbāñ yak shabe bā-ḳhvesh mehmāñ kun marā
vaz āftāb-e-rū-e-ḳhud chuuñ sub.h ḳhandāñ kun marā
O radiant moon of Hasan’s perfection, O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), one night make me your guest, and with the sun-like splendour of your luminous countenance, brighten my morning.
dāram dil-e-ātish-kada āḳhir ḳhalīl-e-man tuuī
bar man farozāñ yak-dame ātish gulistāñ kun marā
I carry within my heart the blazing fire of love and longing, and you are my Friend, as was Khalīl (Prophet Abraham, peace be upon him). Bestow upon me, if only for a moment, the light of your manifestation, and turn this fire into a garden (just as the fire of Āzar was transformed into a blossoming meadow for Khalīl of Allah).
afgand zulf-e-kāfirat ishkāl-hā dar dīn-e-man
zaañ mai ki chashmat mast shud imroz ġhaltāñ kun marā
Your captivating tresses (that is, the multiplicity of created existents in the realm of possibility, which veil the oneness of the Divine Face) have unsettled my faith. Reveal to me your face for but a moment (that is, grant me the vision of the lights of Divine Unity), and make me a Muslim anew (that is, remove the veil born of multiplicity).
miskīñ 'hasan' mī-goyadat ai vaqt-e-ushshāq-e-tū ḳhush
gar man az īshāñ nīstam dar kār-e-īshāñ kun marā
Helpless Hasan entreats you: O Beloved of the blessed lovers, if I am not counted among them, then appoint me at least to their service—so that through them, I too may attain nearness to You (which is nearness to the Divine).
