har shab manam fitada ba-gird-e-sarae tu
har shab manam fitāda ba-gird-e-sarā.e tū
tā-roz āh-o-nāla kunam az barā.e tū
Each night, I loiter outside your house,
Waiting and weeping for you until dawn.
roze ki zarra-zarra shavad ustuḳhvān-e-man
bāshad hanūz dar dil-e-tañgam havā-e-tū
One day my body and bones may crumble into dust,
My little heart's desire for you will remain alive.
har-giz shab-e-visāl-e-tū roze na-shud marā
ai vaa.e bar kase ki buvad mubtilā-e-tū
Not a single day has yet offered a night of your presence,
Pity for the heart lost in your sacred love.
jaañ rā ravāñ barā.e tu ḳhvāham nisār kard
dastam namī-dehad ki niham sar-ba-pā-e-tū
I would gladly sacrifice all my life for you,
Without hesitation, I would bow my head at your feet.
jaanā bayāñ ba-bīn tū shikasta dilī-e-man
'umre guzashta ast manam āshnā-e-tū
O beloved, come and look upon my shattered heart,
All my lifetime has been sacrificed in your name.
bar hāl-e-zār-e-mā nazare kun za-rū-e-lutf-e-tū
tū bādshāh-e-husn-o-'ḳhusrav' gadā-e-tū
Cast but a gentle gaze upon my miserable state,
For you are a majesty of beauty and Khusrau is a poor beggar at your door.

My little heart's desire for you will remain alive.
