MORE BYSyed Hasan Ali Shah

was born 21 Jamadi-ul-Awwal 1227 hijri (1811 A.D) he had a captivating personality. He was handsome with broad forehead, beautiful eyes broad shoulders and medium height. He spoke in a moderate tone and never laughed loudly. Whenever somebody talked irrelevant there appeared furrows on his forehead. He talked sweetly and consoled those in distress. He always kept his promise and was very humble. He composed poetry under poetic name of Allahi.

He was engrossed in attainment of spiritual powers from childhood. He was sent to Gwalior under the custody of Janab Asad Ali Sahib his maternal uncle who held the position of authority in Maharaja Sindhia’s court. He also gave his daughter in marriage to him and was interested that he may continue to stay in Gwalior. When he sought permission to go back to Agra he could not say no but said you may take all items of dowry which included beside hundreds of household goods, horses and camels as well thinking that he may not be able to take all these items and therefore may decide to stay. He agreed and asked for all the items of dowry to be put at one place.

When that was done he called for the needy and distributed with in minutes all the items there itself. He came to Agra but soon his wife also expired. He was grief stricken and confined himself to a small room known as ‘Hujra’ in the first floor of the present premises and was engrossed in fasting and prayers. He just had two barley breads with water for ‘iftar’. After twelve years of confinement when he came out he undertook journey on foot to Ajmer. When he reached Ajmer the doors of Dargah Sharif of Khwaja Garib Nawaz had got closed as per daily routine and he was advised to wait till early morning when the doors were to be reopened. He sat quietly but in the meanwhile the doors opened on their own and he went inside. The doors got closed thereafter. When in the early morning the doors were as per daily routine he came out and proceeded to Bareilly Sharif to meet Hazrat Qibla Niaz Be-Niaz. As he reached Bareilly Sharif he learnt that Huzoor Qibla had already left on his heavenly abode and third day rituals(SO’EM) were being performed. He felt very sorry as he had been ordained by Khwaja Gharib Nawaz to meet him and was wondering as to what wrong he had done to miss him. Hazrat Shah Nizamuddin Hussain Taj-ul-Aulia a young man of eighteen years was Huzoor Qibla’s spiritual successor. He sought his permission to leave back for Agra and was told to take rest for the night and leave next day. During the night he dreamt of Huzoor Qibla who pointed out towards Hazrat TajulAulia indicating that that he infact personified him and that he should obtain guidance from him. Next morning when Hazrat Muzaffar Ali Shah Sahib made a request to Hazrat Taj-ul-Aulia to enroll him as a disciple Hazrat Taj-ul-Aulia spoke out whatever Hazrat Muzaffar Ali Shah Sahib was just thinking-that he was too young whereas he had spent half of his life praying etc-. Hazrat Muzaffar Ali Shah Sahib sought to be forgiven and so was not only enrolled as a disciple but was given KHILAFAT to enroll others in this line. He came back to Agra thereafter. There was lot of pressure upon him to remarry as there was no mail issue to carry forward the mantle. He got married at the age of fifty two years after much persuation by his mother and others in his family. During his absence when he was engrossed his spiritual attainments his brother, Janab Amir Ali Shah Sahib, was taking care of the routine wordly rituals. Hazrat Muzaffar Ali Shah enrolled disciples in thousands there after and under took journeys to various parts of India. He was a strict disciplinarian and advised his disciples to observe cleanliness, be truthful, control over self and show reverence and respect to seniors. Eleventh of every month of Islamic calendar was very strictly observed for ‘Fatiha’ of Hazrat Ghaus-ul-Azam. Special preparations were made for Fatiha, the entire premises was cleaned, chandliers lit and the whole atmosphere given a very holy and pious look. People sat on a floor covered with white sheets. There were night long sessions of Qawwalis where every one sat with ablution and in strict discipline. Special tea was prepared and served to every one. He also undertook tours and traveled with some of the selected disciples to various places in the country. He guided his disciples for thirty two years and lots of people from the city and outside came to his fold. Two days before his departure from this world he was not feeling well and used to utter “KULLO MAN ALAIHA FAAN”. On Monday mid night he called his servant and asked him to recite “YA RASOOL ALLAH KAREEMI SYEDI”. He raised both his hands as if to receive some body and embraced death on 10 Rabi-ul-Awwal 1299 Hijri (1882 AD).
