A Qawwal named Abu-Bakr played an important role in establishing a contact between Nizamuddin and his future master Baba Farid. Fawaid ul Fuwad recounts the Qawwali coming to Badayun and his stories about a visit to the Khanqah of Sheikh Bahauddin Zakriya Multani at Multan. Nizamuddin initially remains unmoved and is overcome with attraction when Abu-Bakr describes Baba Farid whom he had met at Ajodhan.
