Sheikh Burhanuddin Gharib was very fond of music. Amir Khusrau and Amir Hasan were personal friends of Sheikh Burhanuddin. Sheikh Nasiruddin chiragh of Delhi used to stay with him.
He had utmost respect for his spiritual guide and master Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia. He never sat with his back towards Ghayaspur. He died in Devgiri and lies buried there. The city Burhanpur is named after him.
