The training period of Sheikh Bahauddin Zakriya Multani lasted for only seventeen days. The Sheikh's others disciples, many of whom had spent years serving him were annoyed at an Indian being elevated to a high status in such a short time.
After Sheikh Shahabuddin learnt of their dissatisfactions, he told them that when they had first come to him they had been like green wood which would not catch fire, whereas Sheikh Bahauddin had been like dry wood which had begun to burn with a single breath.
