in 1909, under the editorship of zafar-ul-mulk alavi, the magazine "al-nazir" was launched from lucknow. in addition to historical and literary articles, it also published translations from english and other foreign languages. "al-nazir" is considered one of the important early urdu literary magazines. the khuda bakhsh library in patna has published a selection of its works spanning eight volumes. the magazine featured content on urdu poets, the history of india, urdu poetry and literature, memoirs, and educational institutions, which were of great significance. additionally, a selection of its editorials titled "nazraat" has also been published by the khuda bakhsh library.
