Hakim Sanai's real name was Abul Majid bin Adam and his pen-name was Sanai. He was born in 470 AH in the city of Ghazni in present day Afghanistan. He had great command over exegesis, hadith, jurisprudence and literary sciences. He was also an expert in medicine. To some extent, he also knew how to interpret dreams. Hakim was awarded titles such as Hakim and Sheikh because of his high academic ability and intelligence. His Mathnavi has gained a lot of popularity. Disgusted with the worldly life, they turned to piety and piety. This was the period when his poetry took a new turn. Hakim Sanai used to write poetry in a simple, clear and explicit manner. His teaching skills can be gauged from the fact that great poets like Sheikh Attar and Maulana-e-Rum recognized Hakim Sanai as their teacher. Sanayi died in 535 AH.
