pahle saaqī ne pilāyā bhar ke paimāna mujhe
dil kī mastī ne banāyā us pe mastāna mujhe
lutf-e-sohbat lutf-e-ulfat yā'nī lutf-e-zindagī
sab miTāyā tum ne kah kar haaye dīvāna mujhe
yaad ban kar ḳhāna-e-dil meñ rahī un kī hañsī
bijliyoñ se chāhiye mā'mūr-e-kāshāna mujhe
pahle saqi ne pilaya bhar ke paimana mujhe
dil ki masti ne banaya us pe mastana mujhe
lutf-e-sohbat lutf-e-ulfat ya'ni lutf-e-zindagi
sab miTaya tum ne kah kar haye diwana mujhe
yaad ban kar KHana-e-dil mein rahi un ki hansi
bijliyon se chahiye ma'mur-e-kashana mujhe
