dard-e-ulfat dil se jab mafqūd hai
maut se bad-tar ye hast-o-būd hai
rāh-rau kyā shauq sādiq chāhiye
har qadam par manzil-e-maqsūd hai
apnī bīnā.ī kā hai saarā qusūr
varna vo to har jagah maujūd hai
āb-e-kausar kī tujhe 'vā.iz' hai fikr
mujh ko shoq-e-ātish-e-be-dūd hai

apni binai ka hai sara qusur
warna wo to har jagah maujud hai
