pūchhte ho kyā mirā nām-o-nishāñ kuchh bhī nahīñ
umr ko jaano ġhanīmat ai 'kamāl' mil to lo
ham kahāñ aur tum kahāñ ye dam kahāñ kuchh bhī nahīñ

puchhte ho kya mera nam-o-nishan kuchh bhi nahin
umr ko jaano ghanimat ai 'kamal' mil to lo
hum kahan aur tum kahan ye dam kahan kuchh bhi nahin
