wo KHanuman-KHarab na kyun dar-ba-dar phire
vo ḳhānumāñ-ḳharāb na kyuuñ dar-ba-dar phire
jis se tirī nigāh mile yā nazar phire
rāh-e-junūñ meñ yuuñ to haiñ lākhoñ hī sar-phire
yā-rab mirī tarah na koī umr-bhar phire
raftār yaar kā agar andāz bhuul jaaye
gulshan meñ ḳhaak uḌātī nasīm-e-sahar phire
saaqī ko bhī sikhāte haiñ ādāb-e-mai-kashī
milte haiñ mai-kade meñ kuchh aise bhī sar-phire
tark-e-vatan ke ba.ad hī qadr-e-vatan huī
barsoñ mirī nigāh meñ dīvār-o-dar phire
rah jaaye chand rose jo bīmār-e-ġham ke paas
ḳhud apnā dil dabā.e hue chāragar phire
maiñ apnā raqs-e-jām tujhe bhī dikhā.uñgā
ai gardish-e-zamāna mire din agar phire
merī nigāh meñ to ġhazal hai usī kā naam
jis kī ragoñ meñ dauḌtā ḳhūn-e-jigar phire
qaid-e-ġham-e-hayāt bhī kyā chiiz hai 'fanā'
rāh-e-farār mil na sakī umr-bhar phire
wo KHanuman-KHarab na kyun dar-ba-dar phire
jis se teri nigah mile ya nazar phire
rah-e-junun mein yun to hain lakhon hi sar-phire
ya-rab meri tarah na koi umr-bhar phire
raftar yar ka agar andaz bhul jaye
gulshan mein KHak uDati nasim-e-sahar phire
saqi ko bhi sikhate hain aadab-e-mai-kashi
milte hain mai-kade mein kuchh aise bhi sar-phire
tark-e-watan ke baad hi qadr-e-watan hui
barson meri nigah mein diwar-o-dar phire
rah jaye chand rose jo bimar-e-gham ke pas
KHud apna dil dabae hue chaaragar phire
main apna raqs-e-jam tujhe bhi dikhaunga
ai gardish-e-zamana mere din agar phire
meri nigah mein to ghazal hai usi ka nam
jis ki ragon mein dauDta KHun-e-jigar phire
qaid-e-gham-e-hayat bhi kya chiz hai 'fana'
rah-e-farar mil na saki umr-bhar phire
