nikaltī hai to āh-e-sard nikle
tumheñ hamdard samjhe the ham apnā
magar tum bhī baḌe be-dard nikle
kiyā barbād armānoñ ne dil ko
mire dushman to ghar ke fard nikle
na thī ummīd hamdardī kī jin se
vahī taqdīr se hamdard nikle
ḳhizāñ kā ḳhauf thā jin ko chaman meñ
unhīñ phūloñ ke chehre zard nikle
kabhi dil se na tera dard nikle
nikalti hai to aah-e-sard nikle
tumhein hamdard samjhe the hum apna
