ba-ḳhūbī ham-chu mah tābinda bāshī
ba-mulk-e-dil-barī pā.inda bāshī
May your beautiful face shine like the moon,
And may your reign over the realm of beauty remain everlasting.
man-e-darvesh rā kushtī ba-ġhamza
karam kardī ilāhī zinda bāshī
Your deadly glance has struck me, a humble soul,
Yet by your grace, may God grant you life.
jafā kam kun ki fardā roz-e-mahshar
ba-rū-e-āshiqāñ sharminda bāshī
Be less cruel, for on the Day of Judgment,
You may find yourself ashamed before your lovers.
za qaid-e-do-jahāñ āzād bāsham
agar tū ham-nashīn-e-banda bāshī
May I be freed from the bonds of both worlds,
If ever you become my companion.
jahāñ-sozī agar dar ġhamza aa.ī
shakar-rezī agar dar ḳhanda bāshī
The world’s order would change by your charming gaze,
And sweetness would spread through your smile.
ba-rindī-o-ba-shoḳhī ham-chū 'ḳhusrau'
hazārāñ ḳhān-o-māñ bar-kanda bāshī
Because of your playfulness and lively spirit,
Thousands of hearts, like that of Khosrow, have been shattered.
