chashm-e-maste ajabe zulf-e-darāze ajabe
mai-paraste ajabe fitna-tarāze ajabe
The beloved is matchless in his intoxicated eyes, exceptional in the chains of his long tresses,
Incomparable in his staggering ecstasy and peerless in the revolt he inspires.
bahar-e-qatalam chuuñ kashd teġh niham sar-ba-sujūd
uu ba-nāze ajabe man ba-niyāze ajabe
When he lifts the sword to strike me down,I lower my head in complete surrender,ready to be struck
He is extraordinary in his majesty and I am inimitable in my humble devotion and surrender.
vaqt-e-bismil shud aanam chashm ba-rūyash bāzast
mehrbāne ajabe banda-navāze ajabe
At the moment of my death my eyes rest upon his radiant beauty,
He is unparalleled in compassion and matchless in his generosity.
bul-ajab husn-o-jamāl-o-ḳhat-o-ḳhāl-o-gesū
sarv-qade ajabe qāmat-nāze ajabe
His elegance and grace, his countenance and hair locks dazzle me with awe,
He is tall as the cypress tree and his beguiling figure is world destroying in its charm.
