wo che husn ast inki na-dida dil az ma dar rabud
vo che husn ast iiñ ki na-dīda dil az mā dar rabūd
ḳhud nihāñ dar parda sad dar-hā-e-fitna mī-kashūd
What kind of beauty is this, that without a single glance it took my heart?
Hidden in silence, yet it stirs a thousand storms of desire.
husn-ast andar parda chuuñ sad parda-hā rā mī-darīd
aah zaañ saa.at ki az ruḳh parda rā ḳhvāhī kashūd
Even veiled, Your beauty shatters every veil that dares to hide it,
Ah, I tremble at the thought of the moment You reveal Your face.
dar harīm-e-ka.aba-o-dar-masjid-o-dar-but-kada
chuuñ nazar kardam ba-juz husnat digar chīze nabūd
In the Kaaba, in the mosque, and in the temple of idols,
Wherever I looked, I found nothing but the reflection of You.
pesh-e-jām-e-la.al-e-tū dar majlis-e-rindān-e-mā
sāqī-o-o-pīr-e-muġhān-o-ham surāhī dar sujūd
Before Your cup of scarlet wine, among our circle of lovers,
The cupbearer, the sage, and even the vessel itself, all fell in worship.
pesh-e-ū ai 'auhadī' jaañ bā-razā taslīm kun
varna chashm-e-mast-e-ū jaañ az tanat ḳhvāhad rabūd
O Auhadi, yield your soul to Him in peace,
Or those enraptured eyes will steal it from your very being.
