turā az hāl-e-miskīnāñ ḳhabar niist
ba-sū-e-be-dilāñ vaqte guzar niist
You have no knowledge of the conditions of the helpless and the destitute, you are unaware of their plight, there is no need to spend time with the heartless ones.
za-āh-e-man shuda chuuñ mom aahan
dil-e-sañgīt rā hargiz ḳhabar niist
From my sighs and cries, iron turns into wax,
But your hard heart remains unaffected by this weeping and lamenting.
hama bā-mohtashim saazī va-lekin
ba-nizd-e-tū faqīrāñ rā ḳhatar niist
Your glory and majesty are with everyone,
But there is no danger to the destitute from you.
za-duniyā chand naazē āḳhirat-bīñ
ḳhabar az kār-e-darveshāñ magar niist
What pride and arrogance there is upon the world, but no one cares about the business of the destitute in the hereafter.
balā-hā-e-jahāñ bisyār bāshad
balā-e-hech mushkil chuuñ safar niist
The world is full of difficulties and troubles, but there is no adversity greater than the journey itself.
ḳhudāvandā tū ma-guzārī hamesha
ki 'ahmad' rā baġhair-e-tū digar niist
O Almighty God, You are eternal, and this Ahmad of Yours is nothing without You.
panāh-e-tū agar hast baak nabūd
digar chīze agar bāshad digar niist
If you have refuge, then how can there be fear? When one thing exists, how can the other exist?
