dar ’alam-e-jaan ba-hosh mi-bayad bud
dar ‘ālam-e-jāñ ba-hosh mī-bāyad buud
dar kār-e-jahāñ ḳhamosh mī-bāyad buud
tā-chashm-o-zabān-o-gosh bar jā bāshad
be-chashm-o-zabān-o-gosh mī-bāyad buud
In this living world one should be in his senses, and in its affairs should remain dumb, he should not use his eyes, tongue and ears, and allow his senses to retain their places unmoved if he seeks bliss.
