ma KHirqa-e-zohd dar sar-e-KHum kardem
mā ḳhirqa-e-zohd dar sar-e-ḳhum kardem
vaz ḳhāk-e-ḳharābāt tayammum kardem
bāshad ki darūn-e-mai-kada daryābem
'umre ki darūn-e-madrasa gum kardem
We have cast off the robes of piety to cover the mouth of the wine cask and from the dust of the tavern we performed the Tayammum (ablution with sand); it may so happen that in the tavern we may find again all the days of our lives that we lost in the religious academy in acquiring knowledge.

bashad ki darun-e-mai-kada daryabem
'umre ki darun-e-madrasa gum kardem
