man zahir-e-nesti-o-hasti danam
man zāhir-e-nestī-o-hastī dānam
man bātin-e-har-farāz-o-pastī dānam
bā iiñ hama az dānish-e-ḳhud sharmam baad
gar martaba-o-rā.e-mastī dānam
I know the appearance of non-existence and existence, I have knowledge of the inmost secrets of sublimity and lowliness; notwithstanding all my knowledge, shamefulness in this knowledge should be mine, if I did not know the proper place (degree of exaltation) and the wis.om (justice) of inebriation.
