sham' ast-o-sharāb-o-māhtāb ai saaqī
shāhid za sharāb ham-ḳhvāb ai saaqī
az khaak barrār iiñ dil pur-ātish rā
barbād ma-deh bayār aab ai saaqī
There is the candle, wine and the beautiful moon O! Saqi, and the beloved deeply intoxicated with wine lift my heart full of fire, from the dust of degradation do not let it go with the wind bring water to settle and soothe it.
