aahū bachcha kard-o-sher ārām girift
bahrām ki gor mī giraftī hama 'umr
ba-nigar ki che-gūna gor bahrām girift
They say the Lion and the Lizard keep
The courts where Jamshed gloried and drank deep:
And Bahram that great Hunter-the Wild Ass
Stamps over his Head, but cannot break his Sleep.
