chun ’ohda nami shawad kase farda ra
chuuñ ’ohda namī shavad kase fardā rā
haale ḳhush kun tu iiñ dil-e-shaidā rā
mai-nosh ba-nūr-e-māh ai maah ki maah
bisyār ba-tābad-o-na-yābad mā rā
But see ! the rising Moon of Heaven again-
Look for us, Sweet-heart, through the quivering Plane:
How oft hereafter rising will she look
Among those leaves-for one of us in vain !
