āñ-hā ki za pesh-rafta and ai saaqī
dar ḳhāk-e-ġhurūr-e-ḳhufta and ai saaqī
rau bāda-kHor-o-haqīqat az man ba-shino
bā-dast har āñ-che gufta and ai saaqī
As to those who have already departed O! Saqi it is said they lie with pride in the dust go and drink wine and if you ask me the truth, I will say what they have said are mere fanciful stories.
