gar aamadanam ba-KHud bude nayamdame
gar āmadanam ba-ḳhud bude nayāmdame
var niiz shudan ba-man bude ke shudame
ba-zāñ na bude ki andarīñ dair-e-ḳharāb
ne āmadame ne shudame ne būdame
If my coming (into this world) had been in my own power I would not have chosen to come, if going from here were left to me, would I ever go; it had been better that in this deserted world, I had neither came, nor been, nor gone.
