gar mai na-kHuri tana ma-zan mastan ra
gar mai na-kHurī tā'na ma-zan mastān rā
gar dast dehad tauba kunam yazdān rā
tū fakHr ba-dīñ kunī ki man mai na-kHuram
sad kaar kunī ki mai ġhulāmast aañ rā
If thou drinkest not, do not level bitter taunts at those who do; if good fortune comes, I shall also forswear wine-Oh abstainer do not pride yourself on your virtue, for you do a hundred acts of sin besides which wine would be a mere slave (much lower in degree of simpleness).
