saqi nazare ba-be-kasan bahr-e-KHuda
saaqī nazare ba-be-kasāñ bahr-e-ḳhudā
ba-shikan tap-e-mā bul-havasāñ bahr-e-ḳhudā
mā māhī-e-murda-aim-o-tū āb-e-hayāt
mā rā ba-visāl-e-kHud rasāñ bahr-e-ḳhudā
O! Saqi cast Thy glance on the helpless, for the sake of Heaven. Break those who live avaricious lives for the (Love) sake of God, I am (like unto) a dead fish and Thou art the Elixir of Life; by Thy company give me life for the sake of God.
