dar bazm-e-KHirad aql-e-dalil-e-sra guft
dar bazm-e-ḳhirad 'aql-e-dalīl-e-sra guft
dar ruum 'arab maimana-o-maisara guft
gar nā ahle guft ki mī nāsara-st
man chuuñ shanavam chūñ-kī ḳhudāyash sara guft
In the assembly of wisdom cheerful arguments of joy proclaimed in Arabia and Roum were accurately and truly spoken; but if none said that wine was delicious and allowable, I shall not listen to them for I have the authority of God on my side.
