’umr-e-tu che do sad-o-che si-sad che hazar
’umr-e-tū che do sad-o-che sī-sad che hazār
ziiñ ko.hna sarā barūñ burindat nā-chār
gar bādshahī-o-gar gadā.ī bāzār
iiñ har do ba-yak nirḳh buvad āḳhir-kār
Thy life in this world may be two hundred, three hundred and even a thousand years, at last they (the messengers of death) will bear you away from this age-old world; what matters it, if thou art a king or a beggar of the bazar both of them will be treated alike.
