dar daman-e-yar be-wafa chang zanem
dar dāman-e-yār be-vafā chañg zanem
mai nosh kunem-o-nām bar nañg zanem
sajjāda ba-yak pyāla mai ba-faroshem
nāmūs ba-mai dahem bar sañg zanem
On the skirts of our cruel beloved one let us pass our hands, we should drink wine and let reputation splinter into bits; for one cup of wine we would barter the prayer carpet, and as for virtue we would change it for wine and dash it on stone.
dar daman-e-yar be-wafa chang zanem

sajjada ba-yak pyala mai ba-faroshem

On the skirts of our cruel beloved one let us pass our hands, we should drink wine and let reputation splinter into bits; for one cup of wine we would barter the prayer carpet, and as for virtue we would change it for wine and dash it on stone.
