ai charḳh hamesha dar na-bardī bā-man
darmān-e-digar kas-o-dardī bā-man
dar sulh che mānad kaañ na-kardam bā-tū
dar jañg che buvad kaañ na-kardī bā-man
O! wheel thou art always at quarrel with me, thou givest peace and happiness to others and pain to me; on my side what humble endeavours have I not made to win peace from thee, and on thy side what hast thou not done to wage war with me.
