yārab man agar gunāh be-had kardam
bar jān-o-javānī-o-tan-e-ḳhud kardam
chuuñ bar kararmat vasūq-e-kullī dāram
bar-gashtam-o-tauba kardam-o-bad kardam
O! God if I have sinned without limit, it is only on my own body, my youth and on my life that they have had effect; since I have complete reliance on Thy mercy, I disobeyed the law swore to give up drink and then again indulged in vice.
