Shab Chiragh is a type of gemstone. When the sea-cow (Dariyāi-ġhāye) emerges to graze at night, it brings out this jewel and places it on the ground, illuminating its surroundings. After grazing, the sea-cow places the jewel back into its mouth and dives underwater.
