Born Maulana Abdul Qadir Siddiqui, he wrote under the pen name Hasrat Hyderabadi. He was born on 27 Rajab Al-Marjab 1288 AH in Hyderabad, and was the nephew of the famous elder Hazrat Maulana Syed Muhammad Omar Hyderabadi. He was one of the famous scholars of Hyderabad. Hasrat’s had that special something which made it instantly unique. His Diwan has also been published. Tafsir Siddiqui is among his famous works. He retired from the post of Head, Department of Theology, Osmania University, Hyderabad. He passed away at 93, on 17 Shawwal 1381 AH, and his laid to rest at Qadri Chaman, the Khanqah of his religious teachers.
