Mirza Muhammad Ali Fidvi alias Mirza Bhaju was a resident of Shahjahanabad. He was born and raised there only. He was banished by the search for livelihood. Reaching Azimabad from there, he became a disciple of the spiritual Khwaja Ruknuddin Ishq of Azimabad. He mentions his teacher with great love in his poems. He stayed in Murshidabad for a few days and then came to Azimabad around 1190 AH and took up permanent residence. Fidvi's academic prowess and his personal accomplishments can be gauged from many commentators. Shefta, Batin and Nasikh have written him as the chronicler of Ahmad Shah Badshah. This incident is a testament to Fidvi's intellectual ability and virtue. Furthermore, in the light of his poems, it can be said that he was an expert in linguistics. He was fluent in Arabic and Persian. Mir Hassan, Khalil and Eshqi have called him acquainted with the science of music and satire. Fidvi also had a long history in music. he last days of Fidwi's life were spent in the company of Khwaja Ishq. The effect on his personality and character was very healthy. Fidwi's eloquence have also been mentioned in great words by his contemporaries. In the beginning he wrote some love poetry but the companionship of Khwaja Ishq gave him the color of Sufism. The year of Fidwi's birth and death is indefinite. According to the research of Dr. Muhammad Hasnain, the year of birth is between 1142 AH to 1152 AH. Some commentators have given the year of his death as between 1203 AH and 1215 AH. Fivi Tadam did not part with his teacher and mentor Khwaja Ruknuddin Ishq and even after his death he is buried near his mentor himself.
