vaz josh-e-habāb har che guftam guftam
iiñ 'ālam-e-pīrī-o-zabānam ḳhāmosh
ayyām-e-shabāb har che guftam guftam
Whatever have I said is ( unreal ) like the writings upon the water ; I have told you—
And also like the rising up of the bubbles — I have told you.
After this it’s difficult for me to write verses,
What I had to write has been written in my youth.
