jo the haath mehñdī lagāne ke qābil
hue aaj ḳhanjar uThāne ke qābil
anādil bhī kaliyāñ bhī gul bhī sabā bhī
ye sohbat hai hañsne hañsāne ke qābil
hinā ban ke maiñ chuum luuñ dast-e-nāzuk
tire haath meñ rañg laane ke qābil
javānī kā ab rañg kuchh aa chalā hai
vo ab ho chale haiñ satāne ke qābil
mujhe dekh kar duḳht-e-raz tan rahī hai
ye khīñch kar huī hai uḌāne ke qābil
qayāmat meñ dekheñge kyūñ-kar unheñ ham
nahīñ sharm se aañkh uThāne ke qābil
banā.eñ na ab us ko ab sham.a-e-mahfil
jalā dil nahīñ hai jalāne ke qābil
chaman meñ uḌā un ko ai bād-e-sarsar
mare TuuTe par haiñ uḌāne ke qābil
bane sho.ale bijlī ke qismat se merī
jo tinke the kuchh āshiyāne ke qābil
buḌhāpe meñ sābit hue duzd-e-mai ham
na aane ke qābil na jaane ke qābil
ye kahtī hai hazrat kī rīsh-e-hinā.ī
'riyāz' ab bhī haiñ rañg laane ke qābil

wo ab ho chale hain satane ke qabil
mujhe dekh kar duKHt-e-raz tan rahi hai
ye khinch kar hui hai uDane ke qabil
qayamat mein dekhenge kyun-kar unhen hum
nahin sharm se aankh uThane ke qabil
banaen na ab us ko ab shama-e-mahfil
jala dil nahin hai jalane ke qabil
chaman mein uDa un ko ai baad-e-sarsar
mare TuTe par hain uDane ke qabil
bane shoale bijli ke qismat se meri
jo tinke the kuchh aashiyane ke qabil
buDhape mein sabit hue duzd-e-mai hum
na aane ke qabil na jaane ke qabil
ye kahti hai hazrat ki rish-e-hinai
