KHud apne ’ilm ki aankhon mein be-parda nahin aata
ḳhud apne ’ilm kī āñkhoñ meñ be-parda nahīñ aatā
bahut dekhā hai apne aap ko lekin nahīñ dekhā
agar hogā hamārā ilm apnī zaat par zaa.id
mumayyaz ḳhud-baḳhud ho jā.egā mash.hūd se shāhid
adam kā apne mujh ko ilm hai ilm-e-adam kyā hai
faqat ma.adūm kā ma.alūm honā kuchh na honā hai
ye mahsūsāt-o-mashhūdād-o-mā'lūmāt kyā shai haiñ
tamāsha dekhne vāloñ ke dam se sab tamāshe haiñ
tan-e-be-jāñ hai a.alam zindagī ham ne atā kī hai
haqīqat apnī ruuhī aur sūrat apnī ḳhākī hai
vo jaañ huuñ jism ke ek ek zarre meñ ravāñ huuñ maiñ
nahīñ huuñ maiñ kahāñ farmā.iye huuñ to kahāñ huuñ maiñ
vo ġhuncha huuñ ki tajziya kī rāheñ band haiñ mujh par
vo nuqta huuñ ki jis kī sair hī kaunain kā mehvar
vo aalim huuñ ki apnī ilm kī āñkhoñ se ojhal huuñ
azal se huuñ abad tak huuñ musalsal huuñ mukammal huuñ
ye qaideñ mere hone par makānoñ kī zamānoñ kī
amānat merī hone meñ zamīnoñ āsmānoñ kī
KHud apne ’ilm ki aankhon mein be-parda nahin aata
bahut dekha hai apne aap ko lekin nahin dekha
agar hoga hamara ilm apni zat par zaid
mumayyaz KHud-baKHud ho jaega mashhud se shahid
adam ka apne mujh ko ilm hai ilm-e-adam kya hai
faqat madum ka malum hona kuchh na hona hai
ye mahsusat-o-mashhudad-o-ma'lumat kya shai hain
tamasha dekhne walon ke dam se sab tamashe hain
tan-e-be-jaan hai aalam zindagi hum ne ata ki hai
haqiqat apni ruhi aur surat apni KHaki hai
wo jaan hun jism ke ek ek zarre mein rawan hun main
nahin hun main kahan farmaiye hun to kahan hun main
wo ghuncha hun ki tajziya ki rahen band hain mujh par
wo nuqta hun ki jis ki sair hi kaunain ka mehwar
wo aalim hun ki apni ilm ki aankhon se ojhal hun
azal se hun abad tak hun musalsal hun mukammal hun
ye qaiden mere hone par makanon ki zamanon ki
amanat meri hone mein zaminon aasmanon ki
