    merī āñkhoñ meñ agar aisī terī nit ko jalva-garī rahī

    to hamesha koh meñ apne aap se yūñhīñ be-ḳhabarī rahī

    are aah tere nihāñ se kabhī kuchh na barg-o-samar milā

    na phale na phūle kabhī yuuñ hamesha be-samarī rahī

    jo ye josh sail-e-sarishk koī roz aisā banā rahā

    na badan meñ naam ko nam mile na dikhā.ī degī tirī rahī

    abhī Das ke nāganī zulf mujhe haaye kaisī mukar ga.ī

    mirī marg āñkhoñ ke sar lagā dekho aap kaisī barī rahī

    chalī bād-e-garm firāq se jalā sab vujūd 'niyāz'

    magar ek shāḳh-e-nihāl-e-ġham jise dil kaheñ so harī rahī

    meri aankhon mein agar aisi hi teri nit ko jalwa-gari rahi

    to hamesha koh mein apne aap se yunhin be-KHabari rahi

    are aah tere nihan se kabhi kuchh na barg-o-samar mila

    na phale na phule kabhi yun hi tu hamesha be-samari rahi

    jo ye josh sail-e-sarishk ka koi roz aisa bana raha

    na badan mein nam ko nam mile na dikhai degi teri rahi

    abhi Das ke nagani zulf ki mujhe haye kaisi mukar gai

    meri marg aankhon ke sar laga dekho aap kaisi bari rahi

    chali baad-e-garm firaq se jala sab wujud 'niyaz' ka

    magar ek shaKH-e-nihaal-e-gham jise dil kahen so hari rahi
