The Thief and the Snake Catcher - Daftar-e-Dom
Interesting Fact
अनुवादः मिर्ज़ा निज़ाम शाह लबीब
A petty criminal was ecstatic since he had just stolen a big snake from a snake catcher earlier that day. Little did the hapless burglar realize it was the snake catcher's first catch, and even less did he realize the snake's venom was lethal! Meanwhile, the snake catcher was blissfully naive of his good fortune in losing the snake, despite the fact that he was completely unaware of its danger. Disgusted by his loss, he devised a plan to track down the thief and recover his prized catch, which he had believed would net him a nice profit.
Soon after, the snake catcher arrived in town, playing with several schemes to apprehend the thief. He suddenly noticed the thief's lifeless body by the roadside and quickly identified him.
It had to have been my snake that killed him! As he observed the snake's tracks at the side of the corpse as it squirmed away, the snake catcher gasped. Believing I'd been duped, I prayed fervently to find this unfortunate soul and reclaim my catch. God be praised that my prayers were unanswered. I believed I'd lost a saleable snake, but I'd actually regained my life! Many of our wishes and prayers will only bring us grief or death, beyond our ability to see, and God Almighty will just turn a deaf ear to them out of His compassion.
