mah-e-mubin ke sath hai abr-e-bahaar aaj
māh-e-mubīñ ke saath hai abr-e-bahār aaj
kākul ba-dosh baam pe hai merā yaar aaj
hai chhūTne ko dāman-e-sabr-o-qarār aaj
be iḳhtiyār ko ko hai aaj aaj
vo shoḳh jis ke shauq ne barbād kar diyā
phir yaad aa rahā hai mujhe bār-bār aaj
'mumtāz' unkī bazm meñ tum ho ga.e sharīk
sad-shukr ki allāh baḌhāyā vaqār aaj

kakul ba-dosh baam pe hai mera yar aaj
hai chhuTne ko daman-e-sabr-o-qarar aaj
be iKHtiyar ko ko hai aaj aaj
wo shoKH jis ke shauq ne barbaad kar diya
phir yaad aa raha hai mujhe bar-bar aaj
'mumtaz' unki bazm mein tum ho gae sharik
sad-shukr ki allah baDhaya waqar aaj
