aañ ki dil burd ze man nik.hat-e-gesū-e-tū buud
vaañ ki zad zaḳhm ba-jāñ ġhamza-e-jādū-e-tū buud
The one who stole my heart was the fragrance of your tresses,
And the one who wounded my soul was your enchanting smile.
dīn-e-man dīdan-e-tū mehr-e-tū īmān-e-manast
qibla-e-man ruḳh-e-tū ka.aba-e-man kū-e-tū buud
Seeing you is my religion, and loving you is my faith.
My Kaaba is your face, and my qibla is your abode.
misl-e-parvāna pai-e-sham-e-ruḳhat soḳhta-am
nāla-e-bulbul-e-jānam ze gul-e-rū-e-tū buud
Like a moth, I burn at the sight of your face.
The lament of my soul is akin to the nightingale's song, inspired by your flower-like countenance.
aañ ki az 'ahmad'-e-miskīñ dil-o-dīñ ġhārat burd
shoḳhī-e-ġhamza-e-āñ turra-e-hindū-e-tū buud
The one who plundered the heart and faith of poor Ahmad,
Is the playfulness of your Turkish beloved.
