    ai chehra-e-zebā-e-tū rashk-e-butān-e-āzarī

    har-chand vasfat mī-kunam dar husn zaañ bālā-tarī

    O beautiful one, your face is the envy of all the sculptures made by Azar(Prophet Abram's father's name who was a famous sculptor).

    How can I praise your beauty? No matter how many qualities I may portray, your charm outshines them completely.

    āfāq-hā gardīda-am mehr-e-butāñ varzīda-am

    bisyār ḳhūbāñ dīda-am lekin tu chīze dīgarī

    I have wandered every nook and corner of the world and even loved many stunning beauties,

    I have seen countless lovely beauties, yet none can compare to you.

    az parī chābuk-tarī vaz barg-e-gul nāzuk-tarī

    vaz har-che goyam behtarī haqqā ajā.ib dilbarī

    You are swifter than a fairy and more delicate than a rose petal;

    I have no words to express how elegant and wondrous you are.

    man shudam man shudī man tan shudam jaañ shudī

    kas na-goyad ba.ad aziiñ man dīgaram dīgarī

    I have become you and you have become me, I have become the body whilst you have become the soul,(Beloved and lover are but one truth)

    So that no one ever say that I am separate from you and you are from me.

    'ḳhusrau' ġharībast-o-gadā uftāda dar shahr-e-shumā

    bāshad ki az bahr-e-ḳhudā sū-e-ġharībāñ bañgarī

    Khusrau a poor and lonely beggar has arrived in your city.

    If your grace allows, for God's love, grant this poor one a single glance.
