shab-e-meraj-e-jaanan ast imshab
shab-e-me'rāj-e-jānāñ ast imshab
muzayyan 'arsh-e-rahmāñ ast imshab
Tonight is the night of the beloved's ascension;
Tonight the Throne of the Merciful is adorned.
falak pur-sāz-o-sāmāñ uftāda imshab
rasūlullāh mehmāñ ast imshab
The sky tonight is filled with arrangements because,
The Prophet Muhammad is the guest of Allah tonight.
bajā.e mirva dar ḳhvāb-gāhat
par-e-jibrīl jumbāñ ast imshab
To awaken the Prophet from his dream peacefully,
The wings of Gabriel are moving in your chamber instead of the fan.
na tanhā 'badr' miskīñ har musalmāñ
ba-me'rāj-e-tu nāzāñ ast imshab
Not only the helpless Badr but every Muslim,
O Prophet Muhammad take pride in your ascension night.
