chun ze-jam-e-wasl mastam roz-o-shab
chuuñ ze-jām-e-vasl mastam roz-o-shab
ārifam zandoh-o-āzād az tarab
Since I have drunk from the goblet of union,
Sorrow has become a melody, and love my liberation.
garche ḳhūbānand dar a.alam vale
bas ajab bīnam turā az har ajab
Beauty abounds across the world,
Yet you remain the wonder of wonders.
gah ze-ḳhud faanī shavam baaqī ba-zāt
gah ze-furqat jaañ ba-yāyad tā ba-lab
When I lose myself, I find the essence of life;
When I yearn, my soul trembles at the lips of death.
tālib-e-hūrān-e-jannat nīstam
shādī-e-vasl-e-turā dāram talab
Paradise does not tempt me, nor its celestial maidens;
My paradise lies in you alone.
vāsil-e-husn-e-ruḳh-e-tū dar jahāñ
niist ḳhālī har zamāñ az tāb-o-tab
Your beauty’s glow adorns the world forever;
Its light is never dimmed.
har zamāñ az ātish-o-saudā-e-tū
az darūn-e-sīna mī-āyad lahb
Your madness burns in my chest like sacred fire.
chuuñ ze jām-e-shauq mastam 'auhadī'
mast-o-mai-ḳhvār āmada maarā laqab
O Auhadi, drunk on the nectar of devotion,
They call me drunk, yet I am only drunk with you.
